Professional Reader

If there’s true love on this planet, my first is reading. Of course, writing is a ver close second, but I digress.

Reading, for me, means a whole plethora of things. It means being understood, it means understanding. It means escaping reality, and sometimes it means learning to see reality in a whole different light.

If I could, I’d do nothing but read all day. Although that sort of borders on unhygienic. And obsessive.

I’ve been watching silently. At my friend Abrar’s blog, he writes ARC reviews. And I’m just watching, wondering what happened. Hey, how comes he’s doing all the cool stuff?

And then, last Saturday, I finally figured out how he does it. NetGalley.com. So, I went over, read up, and signed up on Net Galley. Here, publishers put up their books and give away ARC to create buzz about the books. You’ll find a badge in the sidebar (courtesy of netgalley.com)

It’s just been 2 days, but my first request already got accepted. Keep Me Posted by Lisa Beazley.  I’ve gotten my hands on another book, Dove, by M.H. Salter. I daresay you’ll find reviews of these books on here in about a month or so.

PS: Abrar, if you’re reading this, no offence meant. 😉

When I close my eyes, I see myself as a writer. I see a pale blank page in front of me and feel a solid pen in my hand. I feel inspiration flowing through me, hear the words being whispered in my ears, ready to be written. And I see myself writing them. So, I write. And that is why I am here right now. To let the world know that I want to become better at this. That there is this unbelievably naive living in this corner of the world, who wants to have people help her become the best she can become. My focus is actually on fiction. I dream up stories in my sleep, literally. And I can't help but want to write them. Knowing English only as a second language is a drawback, though. I still try.
